Third/ final draft of my magazine cover
I think there has been a noticeably few changes but for the best, I think the layout now looks better and I am happy with it. I will admit that I found the magazine cover the most challenging in the layout and positioning of the text as these days I see more posters than magazines. I have no come up with a masthead 'The Studios' and I like the name I have given it as I think it goes quite well with a film magazine because films are produced in a filming studio.

Planning of our focus group
As a group we have planned a focus group for people to watch our movie trailer and answer our questionnaire based on our movie trailer. A focus group involves getting together a small groups from your target audience and have a conversation with them about the trailer and for them to answer a questionnaire.
From our focus group we aim to get positive feedback from our target audience about our product, we are planning to have it in the media room on a lunch time where we are having 9 people from our target audience to come and join us in watching our film and speaking to us about it. As a group we have decided that we are going to film our focus group.
We will need:
Interactive whiteboard
Copy of our film trailer
Questionnaires
Camera

Fifth/ final draft of my poster
This is my final draft of my movie poster and I am pleased with how it has turned out, I think it meets all codes and conventions of other horror film posters, however I do think the billing block looks pretty big for what it should be. I do like how the image is edited giving it that shattered look. The blood I think makes my poster look dramatic and spooky as it spells out a young females name, on the poster no one knows if the female is the innocent girl looking in the mirror of the figure behind her.

Second draft of my magazine cover
I have changed the way the text was positioned and I have also added the actors name, personally I think it looks good as I have seen it on real media texts similar to this. I showed a few people the next stage of my magazine cover and they liked how his name was positioned under the title and also the font that I had used. I am still trying to think of a masthead for my magazine.

Fourth draft of my poster
After having feedback from my peers I have taken on their advice and changed my image as I have described in the slideshare presentation. My next step is to create my billing block, add my social networking sites, tagline and also the films website. I am happy with how this image was taken and edited.

Movie poster presentation
After giving the presentation to peers in my class and teacher I had good feedback which I am going to listen to, for example they said the image was good however it did not look like the female in the front looked scared by the figure behind her. They gave me ideas which I could use for example use blood on the mirror, have a shocked open face. I also criticised my draft of my poster because of the scenery behind the mirror, it takes away the idea of the mirror, for my next shoot of this photo I am going to add blood on the mirror, have a shocked face and also get rid of the background. I thought the criticism I received off peers was very helpful and will help me in the redrafting process. After redrafting my poster I am going to show my target audience and see what they think about the poster and what story it shows.

Third draft of my movie poster
I thought I would conform to codes and conventions of horror poster and add an effect to my poster, personally I thought it looked well. However it does take a lot from the poster image and is quite a bit white space. The only issue with this draft is that it did not allow me to add my billing block, I am going to present this to my peers in my class who are part of my target audience and see what they think about it and listen to their feedback.

Second draft of my movie poster
This is my second draft of my poster, I have added Facebook and twitter as social network advertisements because not only does it fit in with my target audience it is a good way of advertising the film trailer. I have noticed that the tag line at the top is not clear enough to be able to read it, however personally I think the tag line is good because it intrigues the audience into wanting to watch the film.

First draft of my movie poster
This is my first draft of my movie poster, as you can see it is missing important parts such as the billing block, advertisements, tag lines and actors names. My next step is to include all of these to conform to the codes and conventions of similar genre posters. I am not totally happy with my image but I am going to present it to my class early April to see what they think about it and take on the feedback they give me to how I can make my poster photo better.

film poster analysis
(during my sketch drafting of poster)
I chose to base my idea of my poster on this girls
face and her facial expressions. I also like the positioning of the title of
the film which is underneath the photo, when I redraft my poster I am going to
place my title in a similar place as it looks more effective as it does not
reduce the audience view of the image. I quite like the idea of the girl on my
poster looking shocked and ‘shattered’ however if I just showed her face on the
poster I am not sure it will look as effective as this poster as I am not sure
it would get the plot across to the audience.
I asked someone in the public aged 40 what they
thought of my poster and how it came across to them, they gave me good feed
back and also criticism which I needed in order to improve my poster. Some of
the feedback she gave to me was the idea of the font of the title being
shattered is good and strong, the image is a strong image and the facial
expression on the girl really represents the title however if you make the girl
look more ‘shattered’ it may give a better effect. They also said if I had my title underneath
my image it would emphasize the image. She also thought the billing block at
the bottom of the poster was ideal and was small enough, it does not take away
the main image. They also gave me suggestions such as the date of release, main
actors, twitter and facebook.
For my next draft I am going to get the ideas of the
image and title position from the poster above, I think it is clear and
effective. I think the colour on this poster works effective for a horror movie
poster, while I was looking at movie posters I noticed the majority of them use
blue, red, white and black. I am going to stick to these colours, my main
colour I am planning to use is red! The colour red indicates the colour of
blood which gives the reader the impression of the horror including blood.
However I do not want to over excessively use the colour red as there is not
much blood in our movie trailer.
